Our Story

The Coven Bx began with a simple idea — to create somewhere a little different. A place where people could slow down, get creative, spend time together and leave with something they had made themselves.

Founded by Beck and Maree, The Coven opened its doors in Bathurst in December 2024 as Australia’s first Candle Café, bringing together creativity, connection, great coffee and the chance to create something completely personal.

Like all businesses, The Coven has continued to grow and evolve since those early days. Today, Maree leads The Coven alongside an amazing team who help bring the experience to life every day.

Customers can now choose from more than 170 fragrances, 150+ vessels and hundreds of decorative moulds to create something completely their own. But The Coven has become about much more than candles.

It has become a place for families, friends, couples, celebrations, community groups, visitors to Bathurst and sometimes simply someone wanting a coffee and a friendly place to sit for a while.

From first-time candle makers to customers who return again and again, every person adds another little piece to The Coven’s story.

And we’re still only getting started.
